For the second consecutive year poker pro is victorious in Five Star World Poker Classic
With an extra $500 000 and change in his bank account this week, poker pro Adeeb Harb is celebrating his second consecutive victory in this year's No-Limit Hold'em event at the Five Star World Poker Classic at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
With a field of 294 players entering the $ 5 000 buy-in event, it was a tough competition with many highly experienced and talented players like David "Devilfish" Ulliot and Chris Birchby, both of whom made the final table.
Adeeb's heads up final opponent was Ted Lawson, who was ahead in chips, and the action was intense as the two fought for the half-million and more main prize - substantially up from last year's $380 350. But it was Harb who prevailed with a final hand in which he called with Jd-Td but found himself at a slight disadvantage against Lawson's Qh-2h. A jack on the flop, however, made Harb's day.
In addition to the winner's pay check of $500 163, Harb took home a Bellagio bracelet and a $25 000 seat in the World Poker Tour (WPT) Championship for his victory. Both second placed Lawson and third positioned Mack Lee were in six-figure pay territory with $249 083 and $147 040 respectively. |
