Anti-gambling program comes up craps

Problem gamblers are saying it is easy to sneak into casinos, even when they're not supposed to.
According to the Herald, four out of five gamblers, part of a program to stop them from going to the casinos, say they've had no problem getting into their favourite gambling spot.
The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission found flaws in the system in a review.
Now the commission is recommending that card-based technology, random ID checks and facial recognition should be considered at casinos and racing entertainment centres.
Currently there are 1,500 people in the self-exclusion program.
If they are caught breaking the terms, they could face six months in jail or a maximum fine of $10,000. |
