Sportech H1 pretax profit down 5.8 pct

Aug 5 (Reuters) - Gaming company Sportech Plc (ROD.L: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) posted a 5.8 percent fall in its first-half pretax profit mainly on higher administrative costs and exceptional charges, but said it approaches the second half with optimism.

For the six months to end-June, 2008, the company said its pretax profit declined to 4.9 million pounds from 5.2 million pounds last year.

Its administrative expenses rose to 18.9 million pounds from 11.7 million pounds a year ago.

The company said it incurred exceptional costs of 1.4 million pounds in the period, with redundancy costs of 0.6 million pounds following the acquisition of Vernons and a further 0.8 million pounds relating to the rebranding and relaunch of The New Football Pools.

管理费用多了620万，利润与去年比绍了30万元，看来赚的钱还是要多590万。主要是收购Vernons多花了60万管理费用，另外新的足球彩票品牌代换花了80万，估计广告费占了很多一部分。

总的来说Sportech基本上推出了网络体育博彩业务，BetDirect卖给了32red，32Red又将betDirect卖给了史丹詹。另外，目前只经营有小松林赌场和扑克。其余都是彩票和技巧游戏等游戏。
