Did you know that the most expensive Christmas tree is a 43ft (13m) tall structure that was erected in a hotel in Abu Dhabi to celebrate the 2010 Festive Season? The jewel-encrusted Christmas tree, believed to be worth well over $11million, was decorated with precious stones that were draped over the tree’s leaves.
According to Arab Business.com, owner of the Style Gallery, Khalifa Khouri, provided the jewellery for the spectacle and confirmed that necklaces, watches and earrings that contained over 180 diamonds, emeralds, sapphires and other precious stones were used alongside traditional trinkets and lights to decorate the tree.
During the spectacle, the hotel’s management requested that Guinness World Records certify the tree as the most expensive Christmas tree in the world. Luckily for them, they did!
