Champions League football
The domestic leagues make way for Champions League football this weekend, as the groups start taking shape, and league points become vital to securing play-off spots.

Struggling Arsenal start as underdogs away against Marseille, who despite poor form in their domestic league, has picked up 2 wins from 2 matches thus far in the group stage. Arsenal will be hoping to build on the success of their last league game, when they beat Olympiacos 2-1 at home.

Both Manchester City and United will be hoping to record their first victories in the league, and seem firmly on track as they enter their respective matches as firm favourites. City hosts Villareal, who have lost both their previous matches, while United travel to Otelul Galati who has thus far also remained scoreless on the league table.

NFL Week 5
The in-form Patriots host the New York Jets this Sunday in week 5of the NFL. New England are favourites in this one, illustrating the contrasting fortunes that these teams have thus far enjoyed. The Patriots notched up an impressive victory on the road in week 4, while the Jets have suffered a 2 game losing streak, coming into this match.

The main attraction this weekend though, will be the reigning Superbowl champions Green Bay traveling to Atlanta t o put their unbeaten record up against the Falcons. It should be a close one, as both teams are enjoying a bit of form at the moment, but Green Bay should have the edge here, and come out on top.

Newmarket Group 1 Racing
Saturday's Dubai Future Champions Day at Newmarket offers a dazzling seven-race card, featuring Britain's premier seven-furlong race for two-year-old colts, the ?317,000 Group One Dubai Dewhurst Stakes, as well as the ?163,500 Group One Emaar Middle Park Stakes.

Current favourite for the Middle Park Stakes is the French raider, Family One, which is in sublime form with 4 wins off six starts, and a second in the Prix Morny at Deauville. He will have to fight off local contenders, Alan McCabe's Gimcrack and Caspar Netscher, the winner of the Mill Reef Stakes.

Aidan O'Brien's Power is currently favourite among the nine runners declared for the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes. He has won four of his 5 starts, and is fresh from a win in last month's National Stakes. He comes up against 2 unbeaten runners in Richard Hannon's Bronterre and the Roger Varian-trained Ektihaam.
