ITonis IPTV platform to offer online lotteries and gaming to Chinese viewers in 2008
Prague-based interactive television developer ITonis has boasted that it is the first non-Chinese company to become involved in Internet Television in China and is additionally developing a channel to sell lottery tickets on behalf of the State Sports Lottery.
To be launched with the first 80 Chinese language channels in early 2008 to a potential audience of over 130 million, the new Lottery Channel will be offered through ITonis' wholly-owned foreign enterprise, Flow. By introducing new lottery and other gaming products, revenues are expected to increase significantly.
Commenting on the deal, Thomas Roberts, ITonis CEO, said: "We were delighted to be extending our platform in such dynamic and exciting ways. Like IPTV, the gaming market in China has previously been closed to foreign companies and this is a unique opportunity to gain a foothold in this key growth sector.
"This is a very exciting development for ITonis, which demonstrates our ability to deliver solutions at home and abroad. It has also brought together our expertise in on-line television and gaming."
ITonis, based in Prague, Czech Republic, is a developer of IPTV solutions. The company has developed IPTV solutions for video content owners and video content distributors that enables the viewer to see his/her favorite national or local TV programs from anywhere in the world at leisure, either through a set-top box connected to the TV or through a computer. |
